The TARLAC STATE UNIVERSITY in its vision to be a premier university in the Asia-Pacific and in its desire to provide quality and excellent conferences will conduct the 2ND INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE with the theme ”Addressing the Challenges of Globalization with ASEAN Perspectives”. This will be held on May 18-20, 2017 at the Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa, PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES.

The 2nd International Research Conference (IRC2) aims to bring together researchers from around the world who are engaged in various disciplines. The objectives of the conference are: (1) to provide a forum for the productive exchange of ideas, and sharing of experience among academicians, practitioners and students with the end of enhancing research capability in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at the Tarlac State University; (2) to provide opportunities for faculty and student researchers to disseminate cutting edge research outputs in a wide range of disciplines; and (3) to enable participants to establish networks and build mutually beneficial partnerships with professionals from ASEAN member countries and other nations and institutions.

The conference shall cover the following tracks:

Track 1 Science and Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

Track 2 Management, Business and Economics

Track 3 Social Sciences, Humanities and Education

Registration fee is as follows:

Except for the fee for every additional paper, the registration fees above are inclusive of a conference kit, certificate, book of abstracts, 2 lunches, 1 welcome dinner and 5 snacks.

*Authors of papers for publication must commit to revise and conform to the referee/evaluation results that will be generated by the Upland Farm Journal Editorial Board.

As mentioned above, the 2nd International Research Conference is set in the paradise island of Palawan, which was voted as the Most Beautiful Island in the World in Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2014 and 2015 because of its stunning beaches, relaxing island experiences, and rich marine biodiversity, among others. It is also home to one of the New7Wonders of Nature, the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, which should be on top of any visitor’s list of places to visit in Palawan.

Call for Papers

The Tarlac State University wishes to invite all interested Researchers, Research managers educators, practitioners, policy makers and implementers from various public, private, or industrial sectors worldwide to submit their paper abstracts in any but not limited to the following conference tracks:

Track 1 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) (Keywords: Natural and Applied Science, Engineering Technology, Technology Innovation, Engineering Education, Mechatronics, Mathematics, Climate Change, Adaptation and Mitigation)

Track 2 Management, Business and Economics (Keywords: Business, Entrepreneurship, Business Sustainability, Leadership Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Ethics, Global Economics)

Track 3 Social Science, Humanities and Education (Keywords: Behavior management, Philosophical Issues, Social Issues, Social Problems, Latest trends in Educational Methodologies, Best Practices in Classroom management, Teaching Learning)

Abstract Submission

The deadline for submission of abstract is February 28, 2017 and full paper submission is March 30, 2017. The conference conveners will accept papers in English only. All abstracts for submission must be written in MS Word Format following the prescribed format below.

  1. Researches should have been conducted within the last three years (2012-2015).
  2. The title of the research should be centered at the top of the page. Format using Times New Roman, bold and font size of 14.
  3. A subtitle may be included under the title. Also centered, Times New Roman and font size of 12.
  4. Name/s of the author/s should be in Times New Roman with font size of 11.
  5. For researches with more than 1 author, use superscripts and write the name of the main author first.
  6. For the first line, place the name of department of the author in Times New Roman and font size of 10.
  7. Place the name of the Institution/affiliation of the author on the second line in Times New Roman and font size of 10.
  8. On the third line, the location of the institution of the author. Format is also in Times New Roman and font size of 10.
  9. For researches with more than one author coming from different institutions, use superscripts. The superscript numbers should coincide with the name of the author and the name of the institution.
  10. Research abstract should be between 150 to 250 words that captures the scope, objectives of the study, the research design and highlights of the results and conclusions. Format is in Times New Roman and font size of 9.
  11. Provide maximum of five keywords. Format is in Times New Roman, font size of 9, italicized and indented.
  12. All abstracts must be submitted to irc2017@tsu.edu.ph on or before February 28, 2017.
  13. Researchers with qualified abstracts will be notified and be required to submit the full paper together with the PowerPoint presentation.

Full paper submission should follow the prescribed format available through a downloadable link at irc2017@tsu.edu.ph.

PowerPoint presentation is limited to 20 minutes. Please limit your slides to capture and highlight the essential parts of your paper.

Deadline of submission of full paper together with the PowerPoint presentation is on March 30, 2017.

  1. The international conference is a live out so that participants can make personal arrangements on their lodging at the venue on or before May 18, 2017. Other lodgings are also available outside the venue but it is highly recommended to book at the venue.
  2. During the conference lunches and snacks will be available only at the designated time as indicated in the program.
  3. For those with allergies to certain food, it is highly advised to indicate it in your registration form.
  4. Optional tour is voluntary and participants interested to join such a tour may contact local tour agents to be available at the venue.
