Tarlac State University was officially conferred a subscription to the SOPHIE Learning OS by Prince Technologies Corporation (PTC) on October 27, 2026 at the Main AVR.

SOPHIE Learning OS is a cloud-based learning management system (LMS) that integrates learning delivery, academic workflows, and institutional operations.

Formalized through the signing of a Complimentary Subscription Agreement, the university was granted a one-year complimentary subscription to the PRO Plan, initially covering 2,000 subscriptions out of a total allocation of 7,000.

In his acceptance message, University President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza thanked PTC and emphasized that the platform aims to reduce teachers’ administrative workload and give them more time to teach and mentor.

“We welcome SOPHIE not to replace our teachers, but to give – to return to them what paperwork has been taking away, which is time,” Pres. Mendoza said, highlighting its role in supporting teaching, assessment, administration, and compliance.

In response, PTC President and CEO Mr. Carlos L. Delos Santos highlighted that SOPHIE was designed around the principle of “AI with the teachers in charge,” ensuring that educators remain at the center of teaching and learning while the system assists with routine tasks.

“Everything intelligent that SOPHIE does, she does under the direction of an educator. The teachers lead; SOPHIE carries the load,” Mr. Delos Santos said.

Designed as a responsive progressive web application (PWA), SOPHIE supports mobile-first access and low-bandwidth connectivity, integrating digital learning, course delivery, assessments, and institutional academic records, with built-in AI-assisted tools.

The platform’s pilot implementation is set to begin at the Office of Graduate Studies.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Brendalyn A. Manzano said in her message that the LMS’ features can help faculty organize lessons and learning materials, streamline assessments, reduce administrative paperwork, and improve academic documentation to support compliance with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and accreditation standards.

Moreover, Vice President for Administration Dr. Marlon V. Gamido underscored that the LMS is a good opportunity for TSU towards its realization of the university's framework of development under the DALAN ng Makabagong Teknolohiya.

Prior to the event, the Office of Management Information System underwent an initial onboarding session with PTC.

According to Vice President Gamido, TSU and PTC also collaborated in 2005 on an online integrated school management system through a CHED grant.

SOPHIE Learning OS was previously awarded to TSU during the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Annual Convention and General Assembly.
