Again, Tarlac State University was recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology for garnering first place among the top-performing schools nationwide in the December 2022 Licensure Examination for Criminologists.
Other than ranking first, TSU was also awarded an exemplary passing performance after 100 percent of its takers passed the said board examination among all participating schools, colleges, and universities in the country.
TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco and College of Criminal Justice Education Dean Dr. Roel R. Alviar received the plaque on behalf of the university on February 25, 2023, at the PICC Plenary Hall in Pasay City.
On the same day, the passers took oath as licensed criminologists and new members of the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP).
Among the oath takers is Erika Joy Saludez, criminology boards top 10 passer from TSU, who received a medal and certificate during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Dean Alviar expressed his gratitude to former CCJE Dean Atty. Theodore M. Timpac for his significant contributions to the success of the passers and the college.
ERRATUM: This is the third time the university was named by the PRC as the number one criminology school in the Philippines. In the previous years, TSU has been included among the top performing schools for seven times.
