BGEN Gulliver L. Señires PA, the 23rd Commander of the 702nd Infantry (Defender) Brigade, 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, paid a courtesy visit to Tarlac State University President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco this afternoon (September 13) at the Main Campus.
The visit aims to strengthen the relations between TSU and the 702nd Brigade, particularly in enhancing the ROTC Unit and delivering basic and advanced military education among the university's students.
He also underscored the need to make ROTC "exciting," especially now that the ROTC is about to become mandatory among tertiary education institutions.
Moreover, BGEN Señires emphasized that the Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion or military reservists should also be capacitated for ROTC education and to serve the military in its other needs and functions.
Both parties looked at the possibility of forging a partnership in the future centered on the delivery of relevant lectures and other services that each institution can provide.
Joining the courtesy visit are COL. Leonardo A. Soratos, 302 CDC Director; LTC Romulo R. Dugenia, 202 RRIB Commander; and 2LT Adrian Magtoto, 302 CDC Deputy Director.
